The beatles - stereo box set 2009 rar
Our Lady New Member. I advise you all to spend your money on something more useful, like a spork or a shoe singular. I don't normally download but I simply can't afford these right now and I think Messrs. McCartney and Starr will get by alright without my custom this once. I am a Ghost New Member. Great stuff, thanks for posting. I have a slight problem though. Is there any chance that someone could please upload just these 3 tracks?
Thanks a lot Dave. Hi Dave im downloading now. I ll see what i can do for you later. Lonsdale71 New Member. Mke'sBest New Member. Dittsche Junior Member. Ok, they are a big part of the english musical heritage, etc, etc An awesome set, but if you are still on the fence about getting it because of individuals posting luke-warm or negative reviews, please read on. Almost 5 years after it's release, there are still a whole host of wanna-be audio engineers that are still finding faults that do not exist. Or worse, there are knuckleheads posting negatives because they can't locate all of the songs in the set, or got stuck with a Chinese bootleg.
My point is, ignore these people and get this set! If the stereo versions of The Beatle's music is the definitive version to you, you need this set! Compared to any vinyl versions, or even pre-recorded open reel versions, it becomes obvious that this is the best version of the catalog to date. Again, these sound great; totally analog sound on a good system. Understand one thing: this is a re-master of the original two channel master tapes, not a remix.
So the sound stage will not be different, but with better overall mastering you get broader dynamics, smoother mids and highs, reduced harmonic distortion and all around warmer sound, not to mention clarity.
The limiting applied on these CDs was very judiciously used to control transient peaks that would not have been audible in any event. As a mastering engineer, I have to be open, neutral, and critical of my own preferences. I'll be the first to admit there are a lot of great sounding LPs out there, and I enjoy some coloring that high end systems provide, but these CDs smoke their analog counterparts! The only way this will get better is if they, one day, remix the catalog, the first two albums would not benefit from a remix, as they were recorded with a 2 track recorder, hence, there is nothing to remix.
My understanding is that Giles Martin has archived all of the pre production masters to digital, so much of the conversion labor is done. Remixing from these recordings would give us, for the first time, mixes from 1st generation sources. If this set sounds bad to you, you either have an over-optimized system audiophiles tend to build systems that emphasize a particular instrument or vocal as opposed to overall sound and rarely have a decent CD player , a crap system, or you are in severe need of a Q-tip.
Bootlegs are the other problem. If the seller posts that the Box was Made in EU, it is most likely a bootleg! I recommend looking up the set on Amazon, as there are photos posted showing the difference between a legitimate copy and a boot.
If you find the set and its well below the suggested retail price, proceed with extreme caution! They never made another album like Sgt. And all of this — from Please Please Me on through to their final rooftop performance atop Apple Corps — lasted less than a decade.
It's one thing to create one timeless album in a career, but to create so many over such a short span of time is a feat likely never to be approached by another band. Not only do The Beatles have one of the music's greatest catalogue of songs, but its most interesting history.
Included in the box set is a DVD containing a short documentary on each of the band's 13 albums. These mini-bites are entertaining, but barely scratch the surface. And, for the most part, offer a very rosy view of The Beatles career. Some of this is manufactured by the remaining Beatles, who either didn't want to offer much insight or had their most earnest comments edited out. Ringo, for example, says he loved recording The White Album, because they were "finally a band again.
The irony is that Ringo quit the band during the recording of this album and his fellow Beatles handled drum duties on several songs, including "Back in the USSR. However, none of that raw truth lives in these documentaries, which is a shame.
This could have been the definitive statement on The Beatles, revealing the rich history of the band and its members, but the documentaries never dig deep.
Also disappointing are the booklets included in each cardboard CD pack. These do include the original liner notes, which are great to read, but they also have historical notes. However, these notes seem thrown together. Just like the mini-documentaries, these notations offer no real insight into the most important rock band of all time.
The real kicker is that the box itself, which is a tall, beautiful, clean-looking piece, is poorly constructed. From a distance, the box looks like it contains a Beatles-branded sipping whiskey perhaps apple flavored? It's a fine box at first glance, but when I held it by one end, the weight of the CDs tore the bottom of the box and the remastered versions hit the floor.
The Beatles Stereo Box Set is a mix of good and bad. The good are the albums themselves, which are fantastic stereo remasterings of some of the best music money can buy. For that reason alone, it's worth the hefty price tag.
